Houston, March 8, 2022 (LANA) - The President of the National Oil Corporation "Mustafa Sanalla" met with the CEO of Total, "Patrick Pouyanne" on the sidelines of the "Cera Week" conference, which is being held in Houston, USA.
The meeting discussed raising the current production rates of Al-Waha Company through the rehabilitation of the infrastructure and the development of the discovered fields, and the return of the Al-Mabrouk field to production at the beginning of the year 2023.
The two sides discussed the Corporation's strategy to develop and raise production from onshore and offshore gas explorations in order to raise gas production rates to respond to the increased demand for gas for the global market, where "Total" expressed its contribution to this strategy by holding a technical workshop with the Corporation to discuss the details and technical aspects of this strategy and the possibility of its participation in developing some of these opportunities.
Sanalla welcomed Total's efforts in generating electricity from alternative energies that are being worked on with the General and Electricity Company, and its commitment to developing oil and gas reserves and raising current production rates.
