Stephanie meets with Amazigh stressing of compromise and inclusiveness in country's current complex political environment.

 Tripoli, 2 March, 2022 (Lana) - The Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General in Libya, Stephanie Williams, reiterated the urgent importance of consensus and inclusiveness in the current complex political environment in the country.

This came during her meeting yesterday in Tripoli with representatives of the Supreme Council of the Amazigh of Libya, and the mayors of the municipalities of Kabau, Yevren and Al-Qalaa.

Williams stressed that the best way forward is to hold free and credible elections based on a sound constitutional basis and agreed electoral laws. In a series of tweets, "Williams" stated that the mayors of the aforementioned municipalities and the Amazigh Supreme Council indicated the marginalization of their community in the political process and state institutions, and the extrajudicial detention of Amazigh by mixed forces of security men and armed groups .. calling for the participation of the Amazigh ongoing constitutional process.
