GNU Foreign Minister condemns Russian assault on Ukraine.

Tripoli, 1 March 2022 (Lana) GNU Foreign Minister Najla Al-Mangoush on Tuesday condemned Russian assault on Ukraine.

The Minister made the remarks while participating in the emergency meeting held on the sidelines of the 49th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

 "Human rights are indivisible, and as we condemn the assault on the Republic of Ukraine, we condemn the attack on the rights of the Palestinian people," the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said.

The UN Human Rights Council will hold its 49th session from February 28th to April 1st, with the participation of a number of heads of state and government.

The session discusses human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territories as well as the situation in many countries, the report of the fact-finding commission in Libya and the Ukrainian-Russian crisis.

 The Council will also discuss human rights situation in 50 countries and discuss the effects of the Corona pandemic on human rights and the rights of women and children in armed conflicts and racial discrimination.
