House of Representatives rejects attempts to influence the political positions of the MPs.

Tripoli, 1 March 2022 (Lana) The House of Representatives condemned, On Tuesday, what he described as threats to a number of its members, against the background of the ongoing consultations in Tobruk, to give confidence to the government presented by Fathi Pashagha to the House of Representatives on Monday.

The council said in a statement published by its spokesman Abdullah Bleihiq that a large number of members of the House of Representatives were threatened with death for them and their families, and prevented from returning to their homes, some of which were also attacked.

The statement affirmed the council's solidarity and support for deputies who were threatened regardless of their political orientation, stressing their freedom of opinion and rejecting any attempts to influence their political positions.

The statement said that the Council holds the executive authorities fully responsible for the security and safety of members of the House of Representatives, and calls on the Attorney General to open an urgent investigation into what happened and to bring those, whom he described as criminals, to justice.
