The Center for Disease Control issues a new protocol for travelers and those coming to Libya.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, February 23, 2022 (LANA) - The Director of the National Center for Disease Control, "Haider Al-Sayeh," issued today, Wednesday, an update of the protocol for travelers and arrivals to Libya through the ports.
Al-Sayeh called, in a circular addressed to the Ministry of Transportation, not to request a PCR analysis from travelers on domestic flights, while obliging them to wear a mask for the duration of the trip, and not to request the analysis for travelers to countries that do not require this analysis before traveling.
Al-Sayeh stressed that the PCR test for the detection of the Corona virus should not be requested on arrivals to Libya, except in the case of a suspicion of a passenger, as the rapid test is carried out at the port.
Al-Sayeh stressed that people who received one dose or did not receive any dose, that the traveler possess a negative certificate (RT-PCR) stating that he was not infected with the Corona virus, provided that the test was conducted before reaching the Libyan ports for a period not exceeding (72 hours), with a pledge to commit to self-isolation for a period of (10 days) in the residence hotel, with the possibility of reducing the quarantine period to (5 days) in the event that a rapid test or RT-PCR test is performed on the fifth day and a negative result is obtained.
According to the update, children under the age of 12 are allowed to enter Libya regardless of their vaccination status, provided that they do not have symptoms, pointing out that in the event of a suspected case of a child coming to Libya, a rapid test is conducted at the port.
Al-Sayeh stressed the need to comply with the preventive measures and directives related to the Corona pandemic in Libyan outlets, such as wearing a mask, and social distancing.
