Tripoli, 20 February 2022 (Lana) UN Secretary-General Special Adviser on Libya Stephanie Williams received on Saturday, at the headquarters of the United Nations Support Mission in in Tripoli, Belgasem Qazit and Abdullah Jowan, members of the High Council of the State, to discuss the current political situation in Libya.

She tweeted after the meeting: "I met yesterday with the members of the High Council of State, Dr. Belgasem Qazit and Dr. Abdullah Jowan to discuss the current political situation, and reiterated the need for the various Libyan political forces to seek the broadest possible consensus through a comprehensive and transparent process.

I also renewed my call for all actors to continue to focus on the electoral process in accordance with demands of the Libyan people, and to maintain the calm that exists in the country."
