Dhaw Al Mansouri calls on the Supreme Court to reopen the constitutional chamber.

Pulbished on:

Tripoli, 19 February 2022 (Lana) A member of the Constituent Assembly Dhaw Al Mansouri has called for restoration of the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court, which has been closed and suspended since late December 2014, when the court's surroundings witnessed on the early morning of December 28, 2014, a gathering of dozens of supporters of the political isolation law in front of the court house, holding banners calling on the Supreme Court to reject the appeal and not consider it, considering that it violated the souls of the martyrs of the February 17 revolution.

In remarks to the Libyan News Agency Al-Mansouri called the General Assembly of the Supreme Court and its president to respond to similar calls for reopening of the constitutional chamber, which has already been launched by many parties in Libya and included lawyers, jurists, civil society institutions, politicians, and parties, given the importance of the Constitution in building Libya, stressing that the Constituent Assembly has a team working on a draft appeal before the court, on identifying points of contention.

Al-Mansouri, one of the most prominent lawyers before the Supreme Court, explained that opening the chamber will put an end to much of the controversy and constitutional abuses, and help establish the rule of law, with which everyone must comply.
