Council of Ministers holds its second meeting and announces the allocation of 2.5 billion dinars to support municipalities.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 14 February, 2022 (Lana) – The Council of Ministers of the Government of National Unity held its second meeting for 2022 to discuss a number of issues and developments related to the political, economic and service affairs of citizens.
Prime Minister Abdel Hamid al-Dabaiba announced during the meeting that the Council of Ministers had allocated 2.5 billion dinars to support municipalities, according to a proposal by the Minister of Local Government. Al-Dabaiba also referred to the formation of a committee headed by Deputy Prime Minister Hussein Al-Qatrani and Ramadan Abu Jinnah and the Ministers of Local Government and Planning to draw up a proposal for distributing and following up development programmes in the municipalities of the eastern, southern and western regions.
He explained that sums will be allocated for these projects, which he said are specific and clear, and are an extension of completing the required local development plan.
The Prime Minister said that he directed the Minister of Planning to display a dashboard for the development projects that were contracted or agreed upon at this meeting, and to work to publish it to all citizens to enable them to know the most accurate details of their municipal projects, the size of the amounts and what was spent from them and the remaining balances in the accounts of the institutions to be clearly, public and accurate.
