Presidential Council: Morocco cedes to Libya membership of the Office of the Presidency of the African Union.

Tripoli, 5 February 2022 (Lana) The Presidential Council announced Saturday, that Morocco has agreed to withdraw in favor of Libya from candidacy to the presidency of the African Union. The Communication office of the President of the Presidential Council said in an urgent news published on his official website that this consensus came after a meeting the President of the Council Mohamed Al Mnefi held with the Foreign Minister of Morocco, and the head of its delegation Nasser Borita on the sidelines of the annual summit of the African Union, currently held in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, pointing out that this coordination comes "within the framework of the exchange of support and distinguished relations between Libya and Morocco."
