The National Oil Corporation and British oil company BP agree to implement the 2018 agreement.

London, 4 February 2022 (Lana) A meeting held at BP's head office in St. James, London, between the delegation of the National Oil Corporation NOC headed by its Chairman Mustafa Sun’Allah and BP's Executive Vice President of Production and Operations Gordon Birrell resulted in "the resumption of exploration activities in Libya in accordance with the agreement reached in 2018, between the National Oil Corporation and BP and ENI."

 The NOC sources explained that the discussions that took place at this meeting were about the resumption of BP's exploration activities inside Libya, and the strategy of developing gas in Libya with the National Oil Corporation at a high level with the British Oil Company, to increase the supply to the European market, in order to ensure the mutual benefit of both, the growth of the Libyan gas market and BP's strategic commitment to Libya.

The two sides also agreed to hold a workshop between the technical teams of the National Oil Corporation and BP to continue discussing and developing the National Oil Corporation's strategy for developing and producing gas, according to sources of the National Oil Corporation.
