Foreign ministers of Tunisia and the Congo study the situation of Libya in Ethiopia.

Addis Ababa, February 3, 2022 (LANA) – Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Tunisians abroad, Othman Al-Jarandi held a session with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Congo, whose country chairs the contact group of the African Union on Libya, Jean-Claude Kagasso. They discussed the efforts to converge views between the Libyan parties, and the importance of the role of the African Union in reaching a permanent solution to the Libyan crisis.

Al-Jarandi affirmed Tunisia's keenness to support this African effort, and that Tunisia will remain an incubator for every initiative that would enhance security and stability in Libya.

Al-Jarandi conveyed the greetings and support of President Kais Saied to the Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguso and his efforts to support the political track in Libya, and his emphasis on the importance of activating the African role in supporting the good international efforts aimed at improving the political situation in the brotherly country Libya, and ensuring its security and stability. and unity, to enable it to regain its effective role in promoting development and African integration for the benefit of the peoples of the region and the entire continent.

This came on the sidelines of the fortieth session of the Executive Council of the African Union currently being held in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
