Benghazi, 2 February 2022 (Lana) UN Secretary General Special Advisor on Libya Stephanie Williams said Tuesday evening she was happy to visit Benghazi again.

In a tweet, she described as excellent a meeting she held Tuesday with representatives of civil society in the city. We discussed recent developments in Libya and the need to create political and legal conditions for holding elections as soon as possible, she said.

 "I am pleased to be back in Benghazi today, where I had an excellent meeting with representatives of civil society on recent developments and the need to create political and legal conditions for elections to be held as soon as possible, and we discussed the possibility of establishing an advisory council for women to support policy-making for the advancement and empowerment of Libyan women," Williams said in her tweet.
