Committee on Return of Libyan Displaced Persons in Tunisia holds its first meeting.

 Tunis, 30 January, 2022 (Lana) - The committee concerned with the return of the Libyans displaced in Tunisia held its first meeting at the headquarters of the Libyan embassy in Tunisia, according to announcement by the embassy, Saturday.

On a post on its Facebook account, the embassy stated that the meeting came in implementation of the Prime Minister’s decision No. 22 / 2022 to form a committee concerned with the return of the Libyans displaced in Tunisia regarding the start of the committee’s work to put the decision into effect, in order to permanently close the file of the displaced in the State of Tunisia and to address the problems and difficulties of encountering their return.

 The embassy added that it has been decided during the meeting to publish a questionnaire with complete data on the embassy's website to collect information on the difficulties that prevent such return, to be filled out by the displaced for each family and individuals for a period of five days from the date of publishing the announcement.

The questionnaire is delivered to the Libyan Consulate in Sfax for the regions of southern Tunisia, and to the Social Attaché at the Libyan Embassy for the regions of northern Tunisia.

The committee demanded that the necessary measures be quickly taken in preparation for the final closing of the file of the displaced, noting that the last day for accepting applications is one week after the date of the publication of this announcement.
