Libyan-Italian agreement to establish a judicial link to support investigations against criminal organizations.

Rome, 30 January 2022 (Lana) The Attorney General Al Sidiq Al Sour agreed with the Attorney General of the Italian Court of cessation Giovanni Salvi to establish a judicial link to support investigations and exchange information on criminal organizations.
The announcement was made during a meeting held at the Headquarters of the Italian Court of cessation in Rome, in the presence of Italian Deputy Attorney General Luigi Salvatho, Public Defender Renato Venicio, Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Attorney General Cafero de Rahu and Libyan Ambassador Omar Tarhouni.
The Libyan Embassy in Italy said the meeting discussed activating the memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties, and establishing a mechanism and protocol for its implementation, in an effort to combat terrorism, organized crime, human trafficking and illegal migration.
