An official source in the medical supply system for (LANA): There is no truth to the rumors of the expiration of the expiry date of the Sinopharm vaccine.

Tripoli, January 29, 2022 - The Director of Warehousing and Distribution Department at the Medical Supply Authority, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shamam, denied what was reported by some media outlets about the expiration of a shipment of the Chinese “Sinopharm” vaccine.

Al-Shammam said in a statement to the Libyan News Agency that the device’s cold ring stores received the vaccine shipment on October 17, estimated at 3 million doses, and its expiry date will expire in July 2023.

The Director of Warehousing and Distribution Department at the Medical Supply Authority stated that the shipment was released by the Food and Drug Control Center after completing the necessary laboratory analyzes, according to the distribution mechanism approved by the National Center for Disease Control.

Al-Shammam called on the regulatory authorities to come to the device’s stores to see the validity of the vaccine and the storage mechanism in the cold-circuit stores, as well as citizens not to be drawn into rumors, and urged them to go to the vaccine granting centers approved by the National Center for Disease Control to avoid infection with the virus.
