Turkish Ambassador to Libya along with a delegation of Turkish diplomats and businessmen, visit Benghazi, meet with a number of officials in the city.
Pulbished on:Benghazi, 29 January 2022(Lana) Turkish Ambassador to Libya Kenan Yilmaz paid a visit to the Libyan second largest city Benghazi on Saturday municipal and held meetings with local council officials and members the House of Representatives.
According to the Benghazi Municipal Information Office, the Turkish Ambassador and his delegation met with the Chairman of the Municipal Council, Al Saqr Abu Jawari, Member of Parliament Badr Al-Nahib, Undersecretary of Technical Affairs at the Interior Ministry Faraj Qaim, President of Benghazi Chamber of Commerce Saleh Al-Obaidi and a number of businessmen in Benghazi.
The meeting discussed ways to open the Turkish consulate in Benghazi, open flight and sea routes between Turkey and the eastern region of Libya, and return Turkish companies to work in Benghazi to benefit from Turkish expertise in the areas of infrastructure and reconstruction.
The Turkish Ambassador praised in a speech after his arrival the good reception, stressing importance of joint cooperation for the benefit of all, and the desire of the Turkish side to activate the joint economic and trade movement, and to do everything that would upgrade Turkish-Libyan relations by strengthening cooperation in the economic, trade and service aspects.
For his part, the Chairman of the Steering Council of Benghazi Municipality Al Saqr Abu Jawari stressed the need for serious and fruitful cooperation and the importance of opening the Turkish consulate, the return of direct flights between Benghazi and Istanbul and the return of Turkish companies to work in Benghazi, especially those with previous contracts in the city.
