Tripoli, 15 January 2022(Lana) Vice President of Presidential Council Abdullah Al-Lafi discussed progress of the electoral process in Libya today during a telephone conversation with the US Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya Richard Norland.
Al-Lafi stressed the need to develop a clearly defined map and a specific time framework for the implementation of the electoral entitlement, while at the same time counting on the House of Representatives to push the process forward, in order to meet the aspirations of the Libyan people, and in accordance with a mechanism of integrity and transparency, the results of which can be accepted by all parties.
For his part, Norland stressed that the United States strongly supported a path that could lead to free, fair and comprehensive elections, within the original time frame set out in the road map of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum.
