Pulbished on:Moscow, 2 January 2022 (Lana) Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed by phone Russian proposals on security guarantees and the situation in Libya, Syria and the Caucasus region, a senior Russian presidential official said.
The Kremlin press office announced that Putin and Erdogan had a telephone conversation in which they exchanged congratulations on the New Year, reviewed bilateral relations and developments over the past year, and reaffirmed their willingness to increase the mutually beneficial partnership of the Turkish and Russian sides.
International issues, including Syrian and Libyan settlement issues, and well-known proposals for legally formal agreements to guarantee Russia's security and the situation in the Caucasus, were also addressed, the statement said.
