Libyan Women's Conference on Modern Studies kicks off in 2021.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 28 December 2021 (Lana) The Libyan Women's Conference for Modern Studies 2021 was launched Tuesday morning under the auspices of the Government of National Unity and the Ministry of State for Women's Affairs in cooperation with the General Coordination of Teaching staff of higher education institutions.
The opening of the two-day conference was attended by the Minister of State for Women's Affairs of the Government of National Unity, Horia Tarmal, vice-chairman of the Women's Support and Empowerment Unit of the Presidential Council and undersecretaries of the Ministries of Tourism, Education and Interior, as well as the former Minister of State for Women's Affairs of the Government of National Accord, the Chairman of the Sustainable Development Committee of the Ministry of Planning, and some researchers, jurists and interested women.
The conference is attended by members of teaching staff of universities and higher institutes, as well as researchers, graduate students, civil society organizations and decision makers.
The Minister of State for Women's Affairs "Houria Tarmal" told the audience that the conference was held to push women to actively participate in political, economic and social life at all levels and to build of a national strategy for women and develop scientific plans to address women's issues, to promote women's participation and highlight their role in scientific research.
