Libyan people celebrate today the 70th anniversary of independence, as they aspire for security, stability and prosperity to prevail throughout the country, and for the desired national reconciliation and peace to be achieved.

Tripoli, December 24, 2021 (LANA) - Today, Friday (24) December, the Libyans commemorate the seventieth anniversary of Libya’s independence and liberation from Italian colonialism, after heroic battles they fought since the colonial foot trampled the Libyan land and continued with courage until the declaration of independence, which came based on Resolution 289 issued by the international community on November 21, 1949.

The official declaration of the independence of Libya crowned the struggle of an entire people and the great sacrifices they made for more than two decades through a series of heroic battles recorded by history, in which the blood of Libyans from different regions of the country was mixed.

 As the Libyan people salute this occasion, security, stability and prosperity will prevail throughout the country, and the desired national reconciliation will be achieved, and words and actions will be deeply affectionate and synergistic over building it with sincerity and faith, and that it is one and united country for all from north to south, and from east to west, and it will only be for those who work to heal its wounds, and to resurrect effective solutions to build the modern democratic state in which everyone cooperates in order to build the promised state dreamed of by its righteous martyrs and the race of its loyal sons.

As they commemorate this glorious occasion, the Libyans hope that this anniversary will mark the beginning of a new year in which there will be good and tranquility in which presidential and parliamentary elections will be held, and the transitional stages will end, and the process of peaceful transfer of power will begin, and this people will enjoy the greatness and ancient history of their freedom, transcend all adversities, and turn to work and construction to achieve the rule of law, luxury, transparency, scientific and development renaissance in all aspects of life.
