Head of HNEC: HNEC does not have any technical problem in conducting elections on time.

 Istanbul, 19 December 19, 2021 (Lana) - Head of High National Elections Commission, Imad Al-Shazly Al-Sayeh, announced, Sunday, that the commission does not have any technical problem in holding the elections on time.

Al-Sayeh said in a statement to Anatolia news agency (technically, we have no problem with holding the elections on time, stressing that if the elections are postponed, the parliament is the one who announces, not the commission).

The head of the High National Elections Commission added that it is not within our competence to announce the postponement, and whoever issued the execution order is the one who issues the suspension order, and he is the one who decides the polling day, let alone the postponement decision.

The Parliamentary Committee in charge of following up the electoral process said in a statement last Friday that the postponement of the elections is a definitive and realistic matter, stressing that the Electoral Commission is responsible to the Libyans for announcing the possibility of meeting the specified electoral due date or not.
