Rain-invoking prayer held in Tripoli's Martyrs' Square.

Tripoli, 28 November 2021 (Lana) A prayer for rain was held in the Tripoli's Martyrs' Square on Sunday.

 The prayer called by the Government to solicit God’s mercy to send down rain after years of drought.

In this prayer, the imam called for invoking the Almighty Allah to show mercy by sending rain after the earth dried up. The prayer performers were urged to solemnly ask God the Almighty to come down on us from His Mercy and keep us away from sins, a reference to the reasons for the delay of the beneficial downpour this year.

The imam also urged making this occasion a good opportunity for the coming together of believers in love and unity and to shun sedition and division.

The Government of National Unity, in a leaflet invited citizens to participate in the holding of mass prayers in Martyrs' Square on Saturday afternoon, in following of the example of the Prophet Mohamed peace be upon him, and in view of the delay of the rain, to invoke the relief and mercy from Allah Almighty.
