Foreign Information Department ready to cooperate with all media organs, regional and international, to cover the elections.

Tripoli, 12 November 2021(Lana) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Foreign Information Department refuted what it described as baseless news regarding banning international journalists and media professionals from covering the elections scheduled for next December 24.

 The Department, reiterated in a response, a copy of which was obtained by the Libyan News Agency, that it was ready to cooperate with all media and regional and international news agencies, to cover the electoral event on December 24, according to Libyan laws and legislations.

 It called on media organs, websites and web pages not to be drawn into rumors and misleading news, which seek to disrupt the course of the elections.

The department pointed out that it had previously formed with the High National Elections Commission a joint working committee in order to facilitate granting of visas to journalists, media professionals, and press and media organisations that wish to cover the electoral event.
