(Al-Koni and Al-Lafi) participate in the National Forum to support the elections.

Tripoli, November 3, 2021 -The two deputies of the Presidential Council, "Moussa Al-Koni" and "Abdullah Al-Lafi", participated today, Wednesday, in the activities of the National Forum to Support the Elections, which was held under the slogan "We meet on December 24", in the presence of representatives of the House of Representatives, the state, and heads of state. Parties, political figures, and university professors.

In his speech to the audience, Moussa Al-Koni stressed the need to hold the elections on December 24, in respect of the will of the Libyan people to determine their destiny and to choose an elected president on whom all Libyans agree.

Al-Koni explained in his speech, that we gathered today, the presidency, and representatives of the legislative and executive authorities, assure the Libyans that we bear our responsibility to grant legitimacy to the Libyan citizen, to choose who takes the leadership of the state, through the election boxes, as we are facing a great challenge in a short time to choose the president, and a great risk, It is inevitable, It should have been from last March, after the government gained confidence, so that the candidates present their visions during the next phases.

Al-Koni called for launching electoral campaigns from today, so that the citizen would be aware of them and know who to vote for. He added: "No matter how flawed the electoral law is, elections must be held, and no vote is higher than the vote that will be held on time."

For his part, "Abdullah Al-Lafi" confirmed that December 24 is a historic day, during which the electoral event, which the Libyans have long been waiting for, will be held to choose their representative.

Al-Lafi stressed the need to overcome all differences for the sake of Libya, and sent a message to politicians and members of the House of Representatives and the state of the need to compromise for the sake of Libya, to reassure the Libyan people that the elections will take place on time.

The representative described the presence of the Presidential Council's efforts and keenness to conduct the elections on time, in reference to his meetings with the High National Elections Commission over the past months, to make the necessary arrangements to ensure that the elections are held.

And Abdullah Al-Lafi announced the continuation of the Presidential Council’s pledge before the Libyan people, to respect the roadmap emanating from the Forum for Political Dialogue, to assume its responsibilities to hold the elections on time, and for Libya to have a president who maintains the stability of the state and contributes to building and development.

Al-Lafi sent a message to all Libyans, to forget their grudges and differences, and turn to the polls, and he addressed the House of Representatives and the State of the need to assume their responsibilities towards the Libyan people, and to put the interest of the country above all interests, and not let the Libyan people down. Helm the country, and bring it to safety.
