After Meeting Al Mangoush in Luxemburg Hungarian Foreign minister Urges EU to Assist Libya to Combat Irregular Migration.

Luxemburg, 19 October 2021(Lana) Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó demanded, following a meeting with Libyan Foreign Minister Najla Al Mangoush here that the EU offer assistance to Libya, to enable it to protect its southern borders against irregular migration, saying Libya has become a transit state for thousands of irregular migrants seeking to reach Europe, according to the ‘Hungary Today’ newspaper.

The head of the Hungarian Diplomacy called for a sound financial package to enhance control over Libya’s southern borders, and expressed his country’s support for the forthcoming elections in Libya, which he described as ‘a chance to restore peace and stability.’

He criticized NGOs and human rights groups which ‘try to prevent the Libyan Government combating irregular migration, as he put it.
