Director of NCDC Urges Members of General Public to Abide by Precautionary Measures, Take Vaccines.

Tripoli, 16 July 2021(Lana) Director of the National Centre for Disease Control NCDC Badr Iddin Al Najar has called on members of the general public to adhere to instructions regarding precautionary measures, and report to healthcare centres to take the Conronavirus shots, as Covid 19 infections surged across a number of Libyan cities.

In press statements, Al Najar said the ferocity and quick spread of the Indian variant makes it necessary to take urgent measures, indicating that NCDC has launched an exceptional vaccinating campaign since Thursday, which involved cities of Misrata, Al Zawiyah, and will follow suit in other areas.

He warned of shortages of resources and inability of quarantine centres to handle desperate cases.

Al Najar announced that 200000 Russian vaccine shots have been delivered, and another 500000 would are expected next week.
