New York, 15 July, 2021 (Lana) - Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba, met today at the headquarters of the Libyan mission to the United Nations with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Heiko Maas, in the presence of Libya's envoy to the United Nations, Taher al-Sunni, and the government's special envoy to the United States of America. The discussion between the two sides focused on developments of the political situation in Libya, and the obstacles facing the upcoming elections.

The Security Council will hold a session on Libya this evening, which will be attended by the Prime Minister, accompanied by the foreign ministers of a number of council member states, in addition to the UN envoy in Libya.
