European Official EU to Hands Over 6 Dinghies to Libyan Coast Guard and Libyan Coastline Security Directorate.
Pulbished on:Brussels, 6 July 2021(Lana) A EU official has announced the European Union was to hand over 6 new dinghies to the Libyan Coast Guard and the Libyan Coastline Security Directorate.
Peter Stano, Spokesman for the EU High Representative of Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel said the dinghies are scheduled to be handed over in the coming months.
He dismissed reports on handing over 3 patrol boats to the Libyan Coast Guard as part of existing cooperation, describing the reports as unfounded.
‘The EU has supported rehabilitation of three ships which were handed over to the Coast Guard General Directorate, which is different from Libyan Coast Guard, he said.
