Governor of Central Bank of Tunisia Tells Parliament Libyan Frozen Assets between 140 and 150 Million dollars.

Tunis, 3 June 2021(Lana) Governor of Central Bank of Tunisia Marwan Al Abbasi has told a hearing session of the Tunisian Parliament Administrative Reform Committee that Libyan frozen assets in Tunisia since 2011 were the largest in addition to seized assets which amounted to between 140 and 150 million dollars and funds which belonged to Libyan private citizens which were frozen as a result of their unawareness of the law and money exchange measures.

Tunisian Channel 1 TV quoted Abbasi as saying work was underway to resolve the issue of Libyan assets frozen for 10 years, and a joint committee has been set up of representatives from the Douane and the central banks in Libya and Tunisia.
