Discussing cooperation relations between Libya and Tunisia in the field of local government and coordination in the path of decentralization.

Tripoli, May 25, 2021 (LANA) - The Minister of Local Government, Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi, discussed yesterday in the capital, Tripoli, the Minister of Equipment, Housing and Infrastructure and the Tunisian Acting Minister of Local Affairs and Environment, Kamal Doukh, the cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries in the field of local government and coordination in the path of decentralization.

 It was also during this meeting, which was attended by the President of the Public Authority for Foresight and the accompaniment of the decentralization process, "Al-Mundhir Bosnina". Discussing aspects of direct decentralized cooperation between the municipalities of the two countries in the technical fields and under the direct supervision of the two ministries, after effectively adopting the concept of twinning and activating the current programs and projects between Wazen, Daiba, Bin Gardan and Al-Sars.

 During this meeting, the Minister of Local Government emphasized the need for joint coordination between the two countries and the ministry’s endeavor to benefit from the Tunisian experience in the areas of local government and the decentralization path.

 For his part, the Tunisian Acting Minister of Local Affairs and Environment affirmed his country's readiness to assist the Libyan side in the processes of establishing local collection in municipalities, as well as legal aspects and technical procedures.
