Italian Deputy Foreign Minister: Stability Entered Crucial Phase, Elections on Schedule Will End Libyan Crisis.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 27 April 2012(Lana) Italian Deputy foreign Minister Marina Sereni said ‘the political process in Libya has entered a crucial phase, and holding elections as scheduled will end the crisis in the country.'
This came at a meeting the Deputy held with Spanish Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Cristina Gallach, during which the two sides welcomed UN resolution which unanimously recognized the National Unity Government in Libya, and compelled key players to respect the ceasefire and pull out all foreign forces and mercenaries from the country.
The Italian diplomat said in remarks carried by the Italian Nova news agency on Tuesday, the forthcoming elections would be a turning point to bring an end to the crisis in Libya.
The Italian Minister stressed that he country was committed to upgrading relations with Libya and support the UN work in the country.
