President of the Presidency Council Mohamed Al-Mnifi receives a written message from His Excellency the Mauritanian President.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, April 3, 2021 (LANA) - President of the Presidential Council, Dr. Muhammad Al-Mnifi, received today, Saturday, Ismail Ould Sheikh Ahmed, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and the Mauritanians Abroad in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, who delivered a written message from His Excellency Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Sheikh Al-Ghazwani.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Najla Al-Manqoush, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the National Unity Government.
During the meeting, they emphasized the depth of relations between the two countries, and to strengthen and develop them in all fields to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
The President stressed the depth of the historical relations between the two countries and the common denominators and history connecting them, in the levels of Maghreb, Arab and Islamic, which makes it imperative to work on activating cooperation relations and pushing them forward.
The President stressed the importance of activating the Arab Maghreb Union and supporting its institutions, adding that Libya will do its best during the current period to achieve this goal in cooperation with the brothers in its capacity as the current president of the Union, indicating that Libya will soon send an invitation to start the convening of the stalled Arab Maghreb Union meetings at various levels.
For his part, the Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed the congratulations of his country's president to the Presidency Council and the government of national unity on the confidence of the House of Representatives, stressing the depth of the existing relations between the two countries and the love and appreciation of the Mauritanian people for the Libyan people, and his country's keenness to strengthen relations and push various aspects of bilateral cooperation for the good of the two brotherly peoples.
He stressed Mauritania's full support for the implementation of the outcomes of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, and its full support for the Presidential Council and the Government of National Unity in all Arab, Maghreb and African common forums.
