120 Prisoners of War on Tripoli Released in Al Zawiya.
Pulbished on:Al Zawiya, 31 March 2021(Lana) An event was held in the city of Al Zawiya, west of Tripoli, for the release of 120 prisoners who were captured during the war on Tripoli in 2019.
The release of the prisoners was made possible thanks to efforts which had been conducted by the Al Zawiya city council and the dialogue forum in the city.
The event was attended by Members of Presidency Council Musa Al Koni and Abdulla Al Lafi, the President of the High Council of State Khalid Al Meshri, Deputy Head of the Government of National Unity Ramadan Bujnah, Deputy President of House of Representatives as well as Ministers of Oil, Economy and Minister of State for Liaison and Political Affairs and the Mayor of Al Zawiya.
Speaking at the event Deputy President of Presidency Council Musa Al koni said ‘this event staged by the city of Al Zawiya sets motion for national reconciliation across the country.’
Deputy President of Presidency Council Abdullah Al Lafi announced the ‘National Reconciliation Project’ which he said ‘would help heal the wounds of the past.’
The President of High Council of State Khalid Al Meshri called on Libyans, east and west, to embrace reconciliation and pardoning.
Libya was subjected to a conspiracy and still subjected to it, to create a social division, but today we have to reconcile and come together, he said.
The Deputy Head of the Government of National Unity Ramadan Bujnah said ‘Libyans are in dire need for such events, the one which has been crystalized by the city of Al Zawiya, by contributing to the repair of social fiber and cementing the national reconciliation.
