UN envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis, discusses with the Misurata municipality several issues and files.
Pulbished on:Misurata, 28 March, 2021 (Lana) - The Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Jan Kubis, paid a visit, Sunday, to Misurata Municipal Council.
In a video recording broadcast by the media office of the Misurata municipality on its official website, the UN envoy confirmed that his first visit to the Misurata municipality was successful.
Jan Kubis said that through this visit, we sent strong signals calling for the importance of supporting all municipalities in Libya, looking into their needs and identifying their problems and concerns.
He pointed out that the focus of his meeting with the mayor and members of the Misurata municipality dealt with many important issues and files, including the security file, education, health, economic development and the needs of the people with special needs.
The UN envoy emphasized that the meeting also touched on the importance of the principle of decentralization and allocating funds in a decentralized manner to municipalities, as it is one of the important issues facing the work of each municipality in Libya.
