Tripoli, 28 March, 2021 (Lana) - The Minister of Interior of the National Unity Government, Brigadier General Khaled Mazen, affirmed the ministry's readiness to contribute to securing and making the upcoming elections a success.

The Minister made the remarks during a speech he gave, Sunday, at the opening of the second training course in the field of electoral security, which was launched at the headquarters of the General Administration of Security Operations in Tripoli.

Brigadier General "Mazen" stated that the Ministry of Interior is a key partner for the success of the electoral process in cooperation with the National Commission. He indicated that the Ministry has embarked on a training programme for members of the Police and Security Authority to raise their efficiency in the field of voter security and create appropriate conditions to achieve this entitlement.

 In his speech, the Minister of Interior valued all efforts that seek to achieve the goals and objectives of the Ministry of Interior to establish security and safety pillars throughout the Libyan soil.

The minister called for mobilization and exerting all efforts to be on time for this event, stressing that the security and stability of the homeland rests on all of us, and the success of this stage depends on our readiness for this election.

 It is noteworthy that this course is the second in a series of training courses in the field of electoral security, which targets members of all security directorates in the regions and branches of agencies and departments and prepares them to be trainers to train members and employees of security directorates and branches of agencies and departments in preparation for the next elections on December 24, 2021.

The opening of the session was attended by the Director of the General Administration of Security Operations and his assistant, a member of the Board of the High Electoral Commission, and a number of officials and officers of the General Department of Security Operations.
