Kubis: The visit of Italy, Germany and France foreign ministers to Tripoli is a strong indication of a united European position in support of Libya

Tripoli, March 27, 2021 (LANA) - The head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Jan Kubis, considered the visit of the foreign ministers of Germany, Heiko Maas, Italy, Luigi Di Maio and French Le Drian to Libya, a strong indication of a unified European position in support of Libya in its march towards peace and stability.

In a statement published by the UN mission today, Friday, Kubis stressed the importance of the international community’s support for the Libyan people and the new leadership to support it in carrying out its duties, including arranging for the national elections to be held on December 24th.

In its statement, the mission said that "Kubis" accompanied the three ministers during their historic visit to Tripoli, and attended the meeting with Prime Minister Abdel Hamid al-Dbaiba and Foreign Minister Najla Al-Manqoush and listened to the briefing provided by the High National Elections Commission on the ongoing preparations for the elections.
