Pulbished on:Istanbul, March 27, 2021 (LANA) - The President of the Turkish Republic, "Rajab Tayip Erdogan", Friday, received the President of the Presidential Council, "Muhammad al-Mnifi" and his deputy, "Abdullah Al-Lafi", who arrived in Istanbul on the first official visit of the President to Turkey after assuming his duties.
The meeting with the Turkish President, according to the President of the Presidency Council, dealt with discussing many important files that bring the two countries together, and he stressed the importance of the relationship between Libya and Turkey.
In the meeting, the President of the Presidency Council stressed the unity and sovereignty of Libya, stressing the need to adhere to the benefits of the transitional phase, and to establish stability in the country through achieving comprehensive national reconciliation, leading to elections in December of this year.
In turn, the President of the Turkish Republic, Rajab Tayip Erdogan, reaffirmed his country's full and absolute support for the Libyan Presidency Council, the government of national unity, and the unity and sovereignty of Libya, stressing the depth of the relationship between the two friendly countries.
The Turkish president added that Turkey always stands with the Libyan people, and that it is ready to provide assistance in various economic and development fields, and to support the Libyans to reach an independent and prosperous state.
The Turkish Anatolia News Agency reported that the meeting, which was held at the Presidential Palace of ‘’Waheed al-Din’’ in Istanbul, reviewed the Libyan-Turkish relations in all aspects, discussed steps aimed at developing cooperation, and the two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and the current regional and international issues.
The agency indicated that the meeting was held in the presence of Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, and the spokesman for the Turkish presidency, "Ibrahim Kalan".
