Dbaiba discusses with the high-level European delegation the return of European companies to complete their projects.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, March 26, 2021 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdel Hamid Dbaiba, received a high-level European delegation yesterday at the Cabinet Office in the capital, Tripoli, which included the French Foreign Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, the German Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas, and the Italian Foreign Minister «Luigi Di Maio».
During this meeting, the delegation expressed its congratulations to the Libyan people and the government of national unity, for starting to implement the roadmap approved by the forum for Political Dialogue, which ended the state of institutional division and the formation of a single executive institution.
The delegation informed the Head of Government, their countries ’keenness to consolidate stability in Libya because of its great importance in the stability of neighboring countries and the Mediterranean basin, and that their visits constitute a unified European message to support the efforts of the national unity government.
For their part, the delegation affirmed the determination of their countries to provide various means of support and assistance to the Government of National Unity to fulfill all its obligations regarding many of the priority files in its work.
In turn, Dbaiba expressed his thanks and gratitude for the stance of Germany, France, Italy and all European partners for their support for the road map and their keenness on consensus between the Libyan parties, expressing the willingness of the National Unity Government to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation with all countries, thus enhancing Libya's role in laying the foundations of security and stability in the region and the world.
The meeting touched on several files, topped by the establishment of rules for joint cooperation and the return of European companies to complete their stalled projects in Libya, as well as the return of airlines to and from Libya, in addition to strengthening their diplomatic presence from inside Tripoli and addressing the phenomenon of illegal immigration as it is a solidarity responsibility between the two shores of the Mediterranean.
During this meeting, views were exchanged on various issues of common interest and preparation for the elections on the twenty-fourth of next December.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation "Najla Al-Manqoush" and a number of experts and specialists from both sides.
