Germany renews its support for the national unity government.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, March 26, 2021 (LANA) - On Thursday, Germany renewed its support for the national unity government, stressing the need for the withdrawal of foreign and mercenary forces from the country.
This came from its foreign minister, Heiko Maas, during his speech at the joint press conference in Tripoli with the Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Cooperation, Najla Al-Manqoush, and his French and Italian counterpart, in which Maas said, “through this visit, we wanted to prove our determination to stand by the government of national unity’’. He pointed out that his country will monitor the arms embargo on the parties in Libya.
The German Foreign Minister stressed that the withdrawal of foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya is a prerequisite for preparing for the upcoming elections, saying: “We are now reaping the fruits of the Berlin track and the credit belongs to the Libyans.”
