Executive Secretary of Sahel-Saharan Community expresses his desire to work with Presidential Council and the National Unity Government.

 Tripoli, 18 March, 2021 (Lana) - The Executive Secretary of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States, Ibrahim Sani Ayani congratulated the President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manafi and the Government of National Unity on the occasion of wining the vote of confidence as a new unified executive authority for Libya.

The congratulatory message sent by the Executive Secretary of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States to the President of the Council stated: ‘While your assumption of this position has expressed Libya's thirst for renewal, it also represents the hope of opening a new path to peace, stability and prosperity for all Libyans.

 Ibrahim Sani Ayani expressed his desire to work, prompted by the presidency, with the Government of National Unity to enhance cooperation among the member states of the Sahel-Saharan Community to achieve the two basic goals of the community, namely peace and security, and sustainable regional development. He also expressed the willingness of the Community to keep pace with the political process in Libya, especially the electoral process, and to enhance the capabilities of electoral bodies in this field, and to participate in monitoring the upcoming elections in Libya.
