Pulbished on:Sirt, March 13, 2021 (LANA) - Sirt Municipal Council sources confirmed that the city is preparing to host a new meeting of the Joint Military Committee (5 + 5) in charge of implementing the terms of the ceasefire, including supervising and monitoring the exiting all foreign mercenaries from Libyan lands, and the formation of a joint force between the two parties to secure roads and cities and prepare a plan to withdraw fighters from the front lines, on Sunday.
In this meeting, members of the Joint Military Committee will meet, in the presence of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, to follow up on the implementation of what has been agreed upon in previous meetings regarding the mechanisms for implementing the permanent ceasefire agreement signed in Geneva last month, and adhering to the timetables for opening roads between the regions of Libya, and the withdrawal of foreign forces and mercenaries.
The period of 90 days to implement the ceasefire agreement, which stipulates the withdrawal of mercenaries from Libya, has ended since January 23, 2021.
