Egyptian Foreign Ministry: We look forward to working with the new national unity government to achieve stability and security in Libya.

Cairo, March 10, 2021 (LANA) - The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the National Unity Government in Libya's confidence in the House of Representatives today, Wednesday, headed by Abdel-Hamid Al-Dbaiba.

The spokesman for the ministry, Ambassador Ahmed Hafez, said in a press statement published by the ministry on its official Facebook page, that his country appreciates the role of the Libyan Parliament in assuming its responsibilities and upholding the supreme interest of the state of Libya, to move forward towards the restoration of Libya's stability, security and sovereignty, in a way that alleviates suffering off brotherly Libyan people.

The Spokesman expressed Egypt's aspiration to work with the National Unity Government during the transitional phase, and to support its efforts to fulfill its obligations in accordance with the roadmap for a political solution, with the aim of holding elections on the specified date at the end of this year.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman also called on the new government to implement the outputs issued by the 5 + 5 Joint Military Committee and the economic track meetings in a way that safeguards the capabilities of the brotherly Libyan people, extricates Libya from its crisis, and achieves security and stability in the region.
