The UN mission congratulates the Libyan people on the occasion of granting confidence to the government of national unity.

Tripoli, March 10, 2021 (LANA) - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) congratulated the Libyan people on the occasion of granting confidence to a new unified government.

In a statement, the mission saluted the members of Parliament for their historic meeting today and for supporting the interests of their homeland and their people.

"Libya has a real opportunity now to move forward towards unity, stability, reconciliation and fully restore its sovereignty," the mission said in its statement.

 The mission also praised the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum and the national efforts that led to this historic moment, as well as the efforts of all parties and national and local authorities that supported this process, including the 5 + 5 Committee.
