Parliamentary Affairs Editor at Lana: Chances of confidence in the Dabaiba formation are close, but surprises remain.

Tarablus, 8 March, 2021 (Lana) - Member of Parliament for the City of Al-Jufrah, Dr. Ismail Ali Al-Sharif, confirmed the arrival of (132) deputies out of (178) actually deputies in the House of Representatives to the seat of the House of Representatives session in the city of Sirte to give confidence to the Government of National Unity. .

In a telephone conversation with the Libyan News Agency, Al-Sharif said that consultations are continuing at the venue for the session between members to agree to vote to give confidence.

According to the editor of Parliamentary Affairs of the Libyan News Agency that the legal quorum by a simple majority for holding any public session of the House of Representatives is half + one of the actual number of deputies in the House, which is (178) i.e. (89 + 1) = (90), and therefore it is assumed that the law is valid Any decision taken by the House of Representatives has received the approval of - at least - half of its members +1, so that the approval is in accordance with the quorum.

The editor explained that the original number of the House of Representatives is (200) deputies distributed among (13) electoral districts across the length and breadth of the country, but the actual number of the House of Representatives has now become (178) deputies due to several reasons that prevented the completion of the number, and it was not possible to hold the elections in (3) Electoral districts due to "force majeure", in addition to the failure to join five MPs with a judicial justification (Abdel-Rahman Al-Swehli, Fathi Bashagha, Mohamed Al-Darrat, Hanan Shalouf, Abdul-Raouf Al-Mannai) and the resignation of four MPs, namely (Yunus Fannoush, Imhamed Shuaib, Mustafa Abu Shaqour, Fathi Al-Qabbasi), and the transfer of four deputies to work in another authority, they are (Faiz Al-Sarraj, Ali Al-Qatrani, Fathi Al-Sharif, Abdullah Al-Lafi, while five deputies passed away: Mona Al-Ghaithi, Amal Bayou, Nabil Aoun, Abu Bakr Milad, Omar Qarmil) The deputy (Siham Sergiwa) is absent.

   The editor of Parliamentary Affairs in (Lana) confirmed that with the participation of nearly (140) in the plenary session today of the House of Representatives today in the city of Sirte, a quorum has been achieved, and that the chances for the formation of the head of the national unity government named "Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba" to obtain confidence are close. However, the surprises still exist, which is the possibility that some MPs will vote despite their initial willingness against granting confidence, or their demand for amendments or conditions to it.
