Tripoli, February 23, 2021 (LANA) - Vice President of the Presidential Council, Ahmed Omar Maetiq, met today, Tuesday, with the Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs and the United Nations Development Program in Libya, Mrs. Georgette Gagnon, and the accompanying delegation, who welcomed her and wished her success in the task entrusted to her.

During the meeting, Maetiq stressed the importance of the role of the United Nations in implementing rapid response programs during crises in countries, referring to the return of the displaced to their homes in the areas of clashes in Tripoli, Sirt, Benghazi and Darna.

In turn, Mrs. Gagnon affirmed the mission's desire to coordinate with the Government of National Accord to implement its programs in the field of displaced persons, health care and humanitarian services.
