The Council of Ministers of the Government of National Accord holds its first regular meeting for 2021
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 22 February, 2021 (Lana) The Presidency Council of the Government of National Accord held its first regular meeting for the current year, chaired by the President of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord, Fayez Al-Sarraj, in the presence of Ahmed Maitiq, Abdel Salam Kagman and members of the Council Mohamed Amari Zayed and Ahmed Hamzah, And the ministers, at the headquarters of the Council in the capital, Tripoli.
At the beginning of the session, the President reviewed the latest developments at the international and regional levels and the latest developments in the situation in Libya.
The council started the meeting with the COVID pandemic file, where the council decided to allocate an amount of six hundred million dinars urgently to provide the vaccine and the needs of isolation centers and urgent medical supplies .
The attendees discussed the government's vision about the projected budget for the fiscal year 2021 in accordance with the expected political and economic developments, which will be a unified budget for the state, as agreed upon during the visit of each of the MP Ahmad Maitiq and Finance Minister Faraj Boumtari to the Eastern Region.
The meeting also discussed the proposal for geographical, administrative and economic divisions of the Libyan state, so that it will be in the form of seven economic regions, and 12 “administrative regions” that have a legal and independent financial entity. Each province is administratively and economically affiliated with a group of municipalities, and each region has a president and two deputies, and a provincial council consisting of the mayors of municipalities within the province. The Board deferred this proposal to the next meeting.
