Al-Manafi meets Kubis discuss with him creation of appropriate conditions to give confidence to the government of national unity.

Tripoli, 18 February (Lana) The President of the Presidency Council, Mohamed Al-Manafi, discussed Thursday, with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, Jan Kubis, mechanisms for creating the appropriate conditions to grant vote of confidence to the government of national unity, in order to complete the political dialogue process.  

This came during Al-Manafi’s reception of Kubis at the council’s headquarters in Tripoli, in the presence of the council’s deputy, Abdullah Al-Lafi, the assistant secretary-general and mission coordinator, "Rizdon Zininga" and the assistant secretary-general and humanitarian affairs coordinator, Georgette Gagnon.

The Council affirmed its commitment to work towards achieving comprehensive national reconciliation, within a specific time frame and in accordance with the tracks that guarantee the success of this mission.

During the meeting, the council’s commitment to restore the unity of institutions, strengthen their sovereignty, and work on holding the next election as scheduled, was also emphasized.

During the meeting, the UN envoy stressed the continued support of the United Nations to the peace process in the country.

 For his part, Al-Manafi and the Council’s member, Abdullah al-Lafi emphasized the basic tasks of the council, the most important of which is continuing the military path by following up and supporting the work of the 5 + 5 Committee, unifying all institutions in the Libyan state, especially the sovereign institutions, and seeking true national reconciliation.
