The new Presidential Council holds its first meeting in the capital and discusses a number of important files related to its tasks.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, February 17, 2021 (Lana) - The new Presidency Council held its first meeting today, Wednesday, at its temporary headquarters in the capital, Tripoli, headed by "Muhammad Al-Mnifi", President of the Council, and in the presence of his two deputies, "Abdullah Al-Lafi" and "Musa Al-Kouni" via teleconference.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President and members of the Council extended their best congratulations to the Libyan people on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the 17th of February revolution, which coincides with the Libyans' agreement to end the political division, unify institutions, and move forward towards the elections.
The new council urged the prime minister, Dbaiba, to work to form his government within the specified period, according to what was mentioned in the outcomes of the Libyan political dialogue.
The president and his two deputies discussed a number of axes, including mechanisms for implementing the elections due to be organized by the twenty-fourth of next December, as it was agreed to invite the President of the High Commission for the elections next week, for the sake of consultations, to ensure the best conditions for the upcoming elections to be held in The time set for it.
The Council also discussed a number of important files related to its tasks at this stage, as it confirmed that it will communicate with everyone, and work with them to make this stage a real gateway to the crossing towards a better future for all Libyans.
