Minister of State for Displaced Affairs meets with representative of UNDP in Libya.

 Tripoli, 15 February, 20121 (Lana) - The meeting held by the Minister of State for Displaced Affairs, Dr. Yusuf Jalalah, on Sunday, with the representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Libya, Mr. Gerardo Noto, focused on the challenges facing humanitarian work and the internally displaced.  

During the meeting, which was held at the Council of Minister’s Office, the programmes efforts in the area of Stability Support Fund were reviewed, by providing technical and logistical support, capacity building in all regions of Libya for youth and women, support for the Electoral Commission, and the resettlement of support projects for municipalities hosting the displaced, including the city of Tawergha.

It was also confirmed that some projects would be launched that would contribute to enhancing the stability of returnees to their homes.

Mr. Gerardo praised the efforts made by the ministry in this regard, and affirmed that UNDP will work in partnership with the Ministry of State for Displaced and Displaced Persons Affairs to launch joint projects in support of the humanitarian efforts in Libya.
