In preparation for February celebrations: squares and streets of the capital are decorated with national flags and light signs.

Tripoli, 14 February, 2021 (Lana) - The manifestations of adornment, joy and jubilation spread throughout the various streets and squares throughout Libya, especially in the capital, Tripoli, in celebration of the tenth anniversary of the 17th February Revolution.  

The Libyan News Agency has monitored the preparations and equipment that precede the major celebrations that are implemented and supervised by all public and service agencies and institutions, including the General Electricity Company and the General Services Company, to accomplish the tasks entrusted to them in beautifying the municipalities and decorating them with national flags and banners welcoming on this occasion within the celebrations of the seventeenth of February, including Fitting for this historical event in the hearts of Libyans among these public bodies that contributed to the preparations and equipment for the celebrations of the February revolution, the Public Services Company, which had a prominent role in showing the city of Tripoli in a wonderful way and a new look befitting the greatness, history and heritage of Tripoli, the capital of all Libyans. The Director of the Tripoli Gardens Department at the General Services Company, Eng. Muhammad Abd al-Rahman Ubayya, praised the representative of the Libyan News Agency for the implementation plan that the Parks Department and the Pop-up Department worked on, explaining that all the employees of the company including administrators, engineers, , supervisors, loggers, technicians and drivers have worked Hand in hand to accomplish this plan before the celebrations of the seventeenth of February, to beautify the country. In his statement, the Director of the Parks Department confirmed that a large part of his work, which he started, has been accomplished by re-implementing marble, green spaces, irrigation network, tree pruning and painting, as well as collecting and transporting agricultural waste, including the implementation of new gardens in the municipality of Tripoli, the center, Martyrs Square, and the five main streets, namely Omar Mukhtar Street and Wadi Street. And Al-Istiqlal Street, Al-Baladiya Street and Al-Ghazala Square, in addition to the municipalities of Abu Salim, Al-Andalus neighborhood, and Souq Al-Jumah. For his part, the Director of the Celebrations and Decorations Department of the General Services Company, Eng. "Ahmed Al-Adhaf", said in a statement to the Libyan News Agency that the administration had maintained the lighting poles in coordination and cooperation with the General Electricity Company by changing the detectors for lighting roads according to modern technology. He pointed out that the company has installed lighting on palms and trees and has placed the Independence Flag in streets, squares and residential neighborhoods, in addition to maintaining public fountains and changing their lighting. In turn, the Assistant Director of the General Cleaning Department of the General Services Company in Tripoli, Al-Hadi Ali Al-Akouni, told the Libyan News Agency that the company has begun to complete its tasks and work to renew the fountains. It provided all the necessary equipment, machinery and spare parts to implement the prepared plan. Regarding the preparations for the seventeenth of February celebrations The Assistant Director of the General Cleaning Department of the General Services Company explained that large-sized cameras have been provided and distributed to all municipalities within Greater Tripoli in addition to a number of new bins for garbage collection as well as the distribution of baskets. For his part, Eng. Mahmoud Al-Kalbash, director of the factory naming streets and squares, confirmed through his statement to the news agency that since August of last year, the factory has accomplished 35% of preparing streets (barriers to entry for cars for gardens, garden chairs and litter boxes. Kalbash added that the factory cooperated with several municipalities outside the municipality of Tripoli, such as Zintan, Nalut, Tiji, and Kabou .. As for Tripoli, the factory implemented the naming of 5 streets, namely (December 24 Street, Istiklal Street, February 17 Street, "the former Republic" and 20 Ramadan Street, "the former railway." Calling on the municipalities to consider naming streets historically and geographically, to reflect this on cities.
